We Sell Bicycles to Cyclists

We also have a saying, “selling butter to the butter seller.” This saying has become a reality for the bicycle industry. Bicycles manufactured in Manisa are being shipped to nine bicycle-friendly countries, including the Netherlands and Germany.

Accell Bicycle, which operates in a huge area in Manisa, is officially selling bicycles. In other words, they sell the bicycles they produce in Manisa to bicycle countries in Europe. The bicycle brands are world giants, but they are labeled "Made in Turkey". This factory, which has a 25-year history in Manisa, was incorporated into the Dutch Accell Group in 201 1. It is now one of the five largest companies in the world. Carraro and Bianchi are produced in the factory, spare parts are also produced.

By the way, Accell Bisiklet is the distributor of 37 brands. For example, they are the ones who brought the folding bicycle Bromton to Turkey. With 400 dealers and service network in Turkey, they also have 10 units. There is an Accell Shop store. The factory area is very large; 37 thousand square meters and 400 people work. Although the records in Turkey are not very healthy, it is assumed that one million bicycles are sold. Accell Bicycle brands account for 100 thousand of these. Bianchi is their best-selling model. The factory is incredibly modem and almost everything is planned in accordance with the latest technological developments.

We PRODUCE 500 THOUSAND BICYCLES A YEAR

ACCELL Bicycle Marketing Director Samed Kunaç and I talked about production and export figures in general. Kunaç said, "We produce approximately 500 thousand bicycles per year. 70 percent of this goes to exports and 30 percent to the domestic market. 100-150 thousand of the total production is sold to the domestic market. As Accell brand, we produce spare parts called XLC. We are the distributor of 37 brands. Our annual turnover is 5 million TL. With these figures, we can say that we are the leader of the bicycle sector. We are by far ahead in exports. We offer five brands to the domestic market. In the foreign market, we reach all over Europe, including the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, England and Bosnia. We use water-based paints and we produce them in our factory here. Water-based paints are very important for children's bicycles. In an area of 37 thousand square meters, 400 workers carry out all these production figures. Bicycles with "Made in Turkey" written on them go to almost every country in Europe. We are proud of this aspect. Apart from Turkey, Accell also produces in Hungary and Portugal."
